"Having children with celiac disease has been an emotional rollercoaster, filled with stress and anxiety, especially in the beginning when they were first diagnosed. Every meal, every trip, every social event brings a wave of worry—constantly asking myself,
Is this safe for them? Will there be gluten-free options?
It's exhausting, always thinking ahead, planning, and hoping everything goes smoothly. But in the midst of all the concern, I am incredibly grateful. My girls have become strong advocates for themselves, knowing how to navigate their world safely, and that gives me a bit of peace, even when the worry never truly fades."

I was diagnosed with celiac disease in my 50s, after years of unexplained pain and fatigue. The diagnosis was a relief, but it meant completely changing how I live. Eating out, traveling, and even family gatherings require extra caution to avoid gluten, and cross-contamination can cause days of discomfort.
Fortunately, it’s much easier now than when I was first diagnosed. Many restaurants offer gluten-free options, and food labels mark gluten-free products, making managing it easier. While I miss the spontaneity of eating like everyone else, I now have more energy and feel healthier. At 70, I manage celiac disease daily, but it doesn’t define me. I live fully, surrounded by loved ones and the knowledge of how to care for myself.
